The gospel call does not allow us to seek the pleasures of comfort. Instead, fully-devoted followers of Christ do all they can to put the gospel on display by sharing the love of God that has been shown to them. Whether through our time, talents, or treasures, we seek to give our lives to the advancement of God's kingdom by making disciples.
FOR THE CHURCH
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13
FOR THE COMMUNITY
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon ... Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. 6 Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. 7 But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. Jeremiah 29:4, 5-7
FOR THE NATIONS
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
Within the context of our local communities, we serve a few different ways: through acts of love at Timberwood Middle School; providing Thanksgiving meals with Boxes of Love & giving families a place to celebrate Halloween safely with Trunk or Treat.
When it comes to serving internationally, we partner with Strategic Alliance in Reynosa, Mexico.
Caring for the orphan is a big part of what we do at Providence. This happens a few different ways: providing financial provision when children are placed in foster homes; CPR Training as applicable for respite care; Foster Awareness; and our annual Orphan Care Banquet.
In all of our mission endeavors, we aim to care for the least of these- the lonely, forgotten and the ones that are in need. That same heart applies to our Mercy Ministries, both in our local Church, and through our partnership with Kairos Prison Ministry.
